Students of the University of Newcastle, South Seattle Community College and Chang Shin College are eligible for the exchange program with the merit of scholarship sponsored by the JASSO. Whether the credits taken at Ube Frontier University or Ube Frontier College can be transferred to the program in these affiliated institutions is totally up to them. The exchange program, however, is based on the exchange agreement with each educational institution, so in principle, any student of the above-mentioned university or college who wishes to study at Ube Frontier University or Ube Frontier College and meets the following conditions is eligible to apply for the exchange program regardless of the availability of credit transfer, which means without the scholarships from the JASSO:
・He or she must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at one of our affiliated institutions during his or her stay in Ube.
・He or she must have a sound academic record.
・He or she must show a clear interest in Japanese culture and society.
・He or she must have Japanese language ability sufficient to comprehend classes, give presentations, write reports and sit examinations.
Application Deadline
Students interested in the exchange program must be nominated by one of our affiliated institutions and send their application before the end of October for entry into the semester which starts in March or before the end of March for entry into the semester which starts in October.
